- A USB thumb drive with at least 512 Gb of available storage
- A laptop – the studio is configured for PC or Mac. Chrome Books are not supported.
- A HDMI cable – minimum of 10’ and 20’ is preferred.
- A HDMI adapter, if your computer does not have a HDMI port.
If you have questions about or need assistance with the needed hardware, submit a Help Ticket at SPS Help Desk, contact SPS technical support at spshelp@wfu.edu, or call 704-317-4010
FAQs
How much advanced notice does UNCC need?
UNCC can reserve a studio the same day you request the studio if the room is available.
Can I walk-in to the library and reserve a studio on the spot?
No. SPS faculty must reserve studio space in advance of the time needed. Reservations can only be accepted via atkinsarea49@uncc.edu. You must have the confirmation email from the Area49 staff available when you check-in.
What do I do if I need help while I’m at the studio?
Area49 student workers will be able to assist you with basic help requests.
How do I transfer my recording to the instructional designers?
Transfer the recording from your USB Thumb drive into your Drop Box or your Google Drive (Both Drop Box and Google drive are available to all WFU faculty and staff). Share the Drop Box or Google Drive link with your instructional designer. If you need assistance with uploading your video into Drop Box or Google Drive, please submit a Help Ticket at SPS Help Desk
Will my recording be stored on a UNCC server or a web-based storage site?
No. Therefore, you need to verify your recording is saved onto your USB thumb drive before you leave the studio.
